5. Cemetery chillin'

Locals who hang out at the city’s cemeteries spook out many people unknown to this custom. Old and young, all Copenhageners find it completely normal to eat, drink, play, and tan next to graves.

Join in on the morbid fun by inviting your crush for a walk at Assistens Kirkegård, a nice cemetery in the centre of Nørrebro. Bring some coffee or a snack. There’s plenty to look at, like other people drinking beer, smoking Mary Jane, or making out next to some granny’s grave.

10. Practicalities: thecopenhagenbook.dk

A comprehensive guide that will stop you fearing the small troubles of life in the city. What sets this site apart from the standard Copenhagen tourist guides is its appeal to diverse budgets and interests. Even better, you can find a directory of practical information, such as babysitters, doctors and even a guide to taxation. The tax section is in English, and much more comprehensible than anything the Danish tax office can give you. A key to access everything you need to know for a functioning daily life in the city.

41 reasons why Danes are so strange

International students foreign to the loony whims of Danes were asked to seriously ask stupid questions. At an orientation for new international students, they responded to our stupid question request with some really, well, stupid questions. Could I go to class naked? Why are there so many cows in Copenhagen? How do I get the phone number of the cute University Post editorial assistant?.

We were at another orientation meeting last week. And we asked our new students what they considered strange in Denmark and among Danish natives.

10. Flirty Friday bars

Catch some love on Friday nights when innocent student cafés turn into flirty Friday bars!

Nearly every faculty has a café or bar where students can pre-game on Friday nights, starting as early as 4pm.

Take a trip to Amager and try out the fun bars at the old university of Copenhagen (KUA). Consider drinking a nice chilled beer while winning against the university‘s most passionate table-football players at Café17 (KUA, 17.02.).

Or dance wildly with a stranger on the tables at Nordiske Kaffebaren (KUA, 22.0.61).

Best Copenhagen short videos

With the Danish movie ‘In A Better World’ winning an Oscar for best foreign language film, the world is wondering whether Copenhagen is the next Bollywood or Hollywood.

Well, we at the University Post certainly think it is. So we have decided to present its independent video scene, which is rich in student and exchange student productions, but also in quirky, but slick, productions from communications professionals.

So without further ado, these are the videos that have won this time round in the different categories:
