Culture Night is an annual Copenhagen event where the city comes alive late at night and fills up with people of all age groups.

Most cultural institutions plan special events on the occasion and open their doors until midnight, some even longer.

We went exploring. Check the pictures here!

Here is your guide to the Night of Culture

The Night of Culture festival has been an annual Copenhagen event since 1993. This year, on 15 October, more than 200 museums, churches, exhibition halls, galleries and institutions (including the University of Copenhagen) will open their doors to the public.

The whole city is abuzz on the Night of Culture, with the public gaining access to places and experiences that would otherwise be closed to them.

Here is a University Post special! A guide to the University of Copenhagen events for those of you who don't speak Danish.

Night of Culture

Having squeezed their way through the crowds on the high street, the University Post sought refuge in the Botanical Gardens, and took pictures on the otherwise-closed lawn and in the makeshift BIO-city. All to the sound of DJ Master Fatman's Drum'n'Bass set.

Night in the Botanical Gardens

The main walk-street Strøget is packed. I make my way through, heading to the Botanical Gardens. Drum ‘n Bass is heating up the cold autumn night. I follow the music and suddenly find myself in the middle of some kind of happening called Yabba Yabba.

Life Science pumped up the music

Curiosity is written all over the faces of the hundreds strolling in the premises of the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen (U of C) Friday late afternoon.

They are hurrying to see the exhibitions and demonstrations held at the Frederiksberg campus. Clad with pink and brown t-shirts with the university emblem, the faculty staff have pulled out all the stops in a bid to quench the thirst of the inquisitive minds flocking inside.

The experts: How to make your own job

The financial crisis has apparently set off a wave of entrepreneurship. In Denmark, the numbers of student-started companies has gone up, not down, since Europe’s paralysing recession ground the normal amount of jobs for graduates to a halt. Here is how you can be a part of the movement. Create a job of your own, and stop being dependent on a disappointing job market.
