The observatory on Rosenborg Bastion was built in 1861, to replace the one in the Round Tower.

The beautiful old observatory situated right next to the Botanical Garden houses the Department for Science Education.

The department researches teaching methods specifically for use in the departments of Natural Sciences at University of Copenhagen and elsewhere. The department is the only one of its kind in Denmark.

Thanks to our Danish section Universitetsavisen for this photo story.

The old observatory lies partially hidden behind the vegetation of the Botanical Garden, but from the windows and balconies there is a commanding view over the roofs of Copenhagen and the greenhouses of the garden.

Take a peek inside historical university buildings

In an exchange of property, the University of Copenhagen, has been given back the property rights of its oldest historical buildings, which it had previously rented from the Danish government's property agency UBST.

The Danish section of this media, Universitetsavisen, took pictures of the old buildings, and uploaded an online gallery for their readers to have a look-see.

The University of Copenhagen was founded in 1479.

Here is how you can be a part of the movement. Create a job of your own, and stop being dependent on a disappointing job market.

This Sunday: Piano virtuoso to play John Cage

Art can often be many things, for different people; Confusing, inspiring, educational, and this Sunday 20 May, the Host Guest Ghost project hopes it will be a meditative experience, a ‘different’ way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The upcoming event is a continuation of the series which the University Post covered earlier this year, (Read the article: Hot soup, art = nice, cosy, winter day) and thus far, the project has spanned five different artistic expressions and host, guest, ghost combinations.

5. Take it easy in Dragør, and then do something really interesting

Dragør is a hidden and often forgotten gem. An old town that seems lost in time, it stands isolated on the end of Amager. Equipped with a beach, cafés and great ice cream it is a safe haven away from the city buzz. It is easy to get there by bike as it is just twelve kilometres from the city centre.

Cosy cafés? Come on! We are guys right?
