The new University of Copenhagen intranet will be a single point of access, where students and staff can log-in to gain access to IT systems, check email, obtain an overview of what's happening at the University, share knowledge in group rooms, or read the latest rules and guides on everything from maternity/paternity leave to how to book one of the University's holiday homes.
The new intranet will be expanded over the coming years by the faculties and the Central Administration. A ‘suggestions’ button means that users will be able to help shape the new system and propose new features.
However not all of the new functions will be available to those who do not speak Danish. The official University of Copenhagen site about the intranet explains that, »unfortunately, it will not be possible to translate all of the information on the intranet into English, but the most important news and information will be translated on an ongoing basis.«
The new intranet has not yet been named, and the University of Copenhagen is holding a competition among students and staff to find an easy to remember, meaningful and durable name.
The prizes are a gift voucher for a laptop computer and iPod shuffles and the closing date for entries is 18 January 2010
