He has just been offered a two-year temporary job at Helsinki University, teaching world politics.
Timo Kivimäki has maintained his innocence in the face of a five month prison sentence for forwarding confidential information, including student information, to the Russian Embassy in Copenhagen. The espionage conviction lost him his job at the University of Copenhagen.
The university in Helsinki informed the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, that Timo Kivimäki was the best qualified of all the applicants.
