295 German students were able to flash their University of Copenhagen access cards in 2010. This is six times as many as in 2005.
The University Post requested the figures from the International Office after a German Ministry of Education report showed that German student mobility had doubled in eight years.
Buried in the tables from the ministry was the significant fact that the number of students leaving for Denmark had tripled. Now, the data from the International Office reveals that a large portion of these students are finding their way to Copenhagen.

Anabel Roque Rodriguez has a Spanish name, but has spent a large part of her life in Germany and has Ludwig Maximilian as her home university in Munich.
»I came to Copenhagen because English is widely spoken here. This makes it easier to come here and take part right away. Also I found a supervisor for my studies in Copenhagen,« she says.
In Munich, her main subject is Visual Culture. In Copenhagen, she is enrolled at the Film and Media Department at the Faculty of Humanities in Copenhagen.
»My second choice would have been the Utrecht University in Holland,« she says.
