Almost half the students starting on the new MSc in Pharmaceutical Science are from abroad

by Luci Ellis

English-language Pharmaceutical Science MSc attracts more internationals than expected. 14 out of the 30 new students starting on 1 September are international students.

This is according to the faculty’s website.

2010 is the first year that the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences offers an international MSc programme in the pharmaceutical sciences, taught in English.

Exceeded expectations

When the course was launched, it was estimated that around 5 international students would take part. However, the new MSc has been a bigger hit internationally than first thought.

The Faculty received a total of 44 international applications for the course.

The interest has exceeded expectations, says director of studies Helle Waage Petersen.

The new international students will come from as far afield as Australia, China, Greece, India, Nepal, Iraq, Poland and Slovenia. There are also students from the neighbouring countries of Sweden and Norway.

For Greek student, there is just the pizzeria

Evangelos, a Copenhagen graduate, wants to make a living in Denmark. Going back to crisis-ridden Greece is senseless. But the ‘networking’ here is also proving illusory
