Police have dropped charges against the member of staff at the Faculty of Science. Heroin was not, in fact, heroin, confirms faculty director

by Mike Young

In a bizarre twist to the campus heroin story, police now say that the substance was not, in fact, heroin.

The police have now dropped these charges aginst the staff member. The staff member is apparently still being held in Germany in connection with another drug case.

The 13.8 kilo find at August Krogh, which police subsequently to the University Post estimated to have a DKK 6.2 million street value has turned out to be a completely legal substance which can be bought and kept by all legally, a short announcement in the Science newsletter said.

A 'no story' story

Faculty director at the newly merged Science and Life Science faculty Marianne Rønnebæk, who is in France, confirms to the University Post that the heroin story was a mistake.

»The story is that there is no story,« she says.

She would not go into more details before Monday, she said. The University initiated dismissal proceedings in connection with the original police find. The University Post has so far not been able to find out whether dismissal proceedings will be upheld, and what it is exactly that police found that looked like heroin.
