Every second computers student is an international

University of Copenhagen's computer science department DIKU has announced the largest number of international M.Sc. students so far. 50 per cent are non-Danes

Back in 2009, the Department of Computer Science DIKU mandated English as a teaching language, and joined Copenhagen's 'excellence' programme COME. The hope was that eventually 50 per cent of students would be international.

According to DIKU's website, this goal has now been accomplished.

66 new master students, of which 33 are international, most of them from other EU countries, will start their studies officially on 3 September.

To go on treasure hunt, canal tour

The international students will be already introduced to their study programme in August. A total of 152 international students from the whole of the Science faculty, including the computer science group, will be introduced 22 – 24 August.

DIKU says that it has a number of social events, a treasure hunt, and a canal tour lined up.
